Default Squam Lake Inn

http://www.squamlakeinn.com/inn-kitchen-bar.html

We had dinner at this gem on Saturday evening. This was easily one of the finest meals I have had, here or elsewhere. I was almost reluctant to post about it for fear that we would not be able to get a table in the future

Great food (apps, the bibb ranch salad was fantastic, as were the tips I had and scallops I sampled) and a good wine list.

I believe they close for the season around the end of October.

Thumbs up

Funny you should mention this Vita. My sister has been telling me about this place for a while. She concurs with your review. Real good food, so she says. I am putting it on my short list. Thanks for the reminder!

How long has it been around? My sister mentioned it to me recently, as well.

Default Lunch

We usually stopped in when going to Church Island for sevices in the summer. Food was very good and the place was very busy.

Unhappy bad experience

we love this place, but last night was not good
started with 2 caesar salads.all we got was chopped romaine lettuce with a little lemon juice.no dressing or parmesan cheese and no offer from waitress for black pepper.
wife had gnocci for entry.they had fried it first so it was so hard had to cut with knife and tasteless.gnochi should be soft and pillowy.
my stuffed sole was ok,but small portion for$26!!
service poor, high prices and small portions.
at least manager took off salads on bill and half price of the gnochi.
we won't be going back any time soon

Smile

I've been afraid to say anything since everyone has been raving. However, we went about six weeks ago, and my husband and someone else in our party ordered the fish special....both were deathly sick that night. I frankly think the place is overrated, notwithstanding that one unfortunate experience. The prices are high, and how much ambiance is there, sitting on a patio overlooking a parking lot???

Default Wedding

I attended a wedding there a decade ago. I was pretty impressed with the way it was handled. Even though I made it a point to try dinner, I never made it. The only drawback is the ambiance. A porch overlooking the parking lot. Other than that the place is a gem.

Walter's Basin down the street, although not a fancy pansy restaurant has very good food and a great setting over the lake.
