What's going on this Saturday (besides rain) that would make them want to do this at the Naswa?

Default Events

It is the start of Bike Week. There are many events going on Saturday. Of great interest for boaters is the Peter Makris Memorial Run which is that morning, where boats and bikes make a cruise around the lake. The local fire depts. benefits from this run. The Laconia Rescue boat is a good example of what became of the donations.

Another interest for boaters is The Laconia Airport Lifts Off for Bike Week from 10a-2p on June 8th. Cars, planes, Motorcycles and boats from the local dealers will be on display. Interactive Activities for the kids. Made in NH Craft and Food Vendors, Wright Museum WWII Vehicles and helicopter rides are available. Come see what your neighborhood airport is all about!

Myself and another boat from our Yacht Club participated in this Travel Network shoot.

It was a change of pace for a typical weekend on the lake and a bit of fun. I can't post many details yet as one of the releases I signed said that we're not allowed to post any details online, including the name of the show, etc.

I guess I could say to keep an eye out on the travel channel for a new show, and look for it's coverage of Laconia Bike Week. It may air in July or possibly August. I'll try to remember to post more as the show is coming up. I understand that the Naswa is hoping to host a showing party there to watch the show for the night that it airs.

Of course, we don't know how much will end up being seen, considering all that can go on during bike week, most or all of our segment could be edited out for something much more interesting than two of us grilling on the back of our boats. LOL

It will be fun if they do show you on tv.

Our boat and house were on an episode of The Mad Fisherman a few years ago and that was fun. We had seen him when we went by in the boat and so were kind of watching to see if our boat would be on the show. It was! We didn't expect the house to be on it though. It was funny, everybody started calling us to tell us about it.

It was fun to watch them shoot, and even more interesting to have them crawling all over your boat, shooting video, asking questions and getting all their 'beauty' shots taken care of before the 'star' shows up.

We were there for over four hours. They started on my boat, and then finished up on our friends boat.

The only sad thing was that this was sort of a last minute deal for us. Try as I might to call many friends to join us, everyone had plans and couldn't drop what they were doing and meet us at 11 AM for the ride over. Luckily both boats have friends at our Yacht Club and many of those friends joined us.

Sounds about like what I would expect.

My boat has a grill, an adaptation I setup that is pretty functional. However, I was not interested in "being on TV", I've shot a few TV segments before for other things, and also help a friend of mine product a TV show. It's a LOT of work just to create a little bit of content. Good way to kill half a day, as you found out

Hopefully you get some good exposure when the series comes out, from your vague description (I understand you can't say much), it sounds like it could be neat.

I thought the NEW Definition of a Grill was....having a few excellent Gold Teeth. For us Old Farts...It's hard to know what's PC these days. NB

I'll always remember my friends! Well, my memory is getting bad, but I'll try to remember you!

And if we're lucky and don't end up on the cutting room's floor, this may only be worth about 15 minutes of fame! LOL

It looks like this show will air on August 25th (this Sunday night) at 9 PM (8 CST).

Here's info on the particular show:
http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-show...oats-and-babes

It sounds like they named the grilling segment 'extreme boat tailgating'.

You can see a teaser shot of my boat just before the segment about the NASWA in this video which they have released early:

http://www.travelchannel.com/video/o...ioned-soda-pop

By the way, Cynthia at the NASWA personally told me they would be having a viewing party Sunday night, but this is not confirmed yet, as I didn't see anything listed on their facebook page.

Hopefully both of the boats from the Gilford Yacht Club ("Livin' Larger" and
"Unbelievable!") will make it onto the show.

It looks like the TC has published some still pictures of the show, here's one from the 'extreme boat tailgaiting' showing the crew on the "Livin' Larger"

You can see some other pictures here:

If you saw this, the show was fun to watch, but my boat ended up mostly on the editing room floor! LOL

It looks like they chose to include the shooting from "Livin' Larger", Joe did a great job on camera!

Default Great show

I wonder where he got the ta ta shots. I haven't seen that in a decade.

I was a little disappointed that they did not show or mention 'Mr Bike Week', Charlie St Clair.

Speaking of Charlie, he did a great job with the Gilford Old Home Fireworks!
