Arrow Most charming Meredith, NH

From The Readers Digest, July 3, 2018 https://www.rd.com/advice/travel/mos...n-every-state/ list of most charming small towns in every state.

Connecticut: Woodbury

Massachusetts: Shelburne Falls

Maine: Camden

New Hampshire: Meredith

Rhode Island: Warren

Vermont: Manchester
......

New York: Skaneateles

Florida: Naples

California: Carmel-by-the-Sea

Alaska: Skagway

.......

So sorry Wolfeboro ...... sometimes you win ..... and, sometimes YOU LOSE!

Someone in the know mentioned the new split rail fence, running about 400-yards between the start of Meredith Neck Rd and some open fields on the right as what put Meredith over the top for most charming. Was all about that new and totally charming 400-yard long, split rail fence!

As you drive into Wolfeboro, the first sign you see, in bright gold, is
Meredith.
(And in fine print: savings and loan)

I have no dog in this fight and enjoy both communities.

The post about the bank sign was received by me as a joke.

Yes...definitely a joke, right? Outdoorguy definitely overreacted to this one. Maybe from Wolfeboro? Seems to have struck a nerve. Lighten up Francis.

Enjoyed looking at the whole list on Readers Digest and have copied them down as a bucket list! I can vouch for Guthrie, OK, it is about 20 miles to the north of us here and we love visiting! Charming is the perfect word for it. Again, thanks for sharing this interesting list.

South side of Chicago made the NY Times list of both charming and politically correct.

Things have changed since 2012. The white supremacists have been buying all the properties around the lakes region and getting all the good paying jobs, assuring minorities will never get any advantage to being equal. But things are about to change... NH with a white population of 94% will have to make amends, wealthy property owners will relinquish their homes in favor of those that will bring more diversity to our state.(remember... how much money do you need) Course most will gladly do this to aid in this social engineering project that's now underway. Thanks to all that had willingly given their homes to those that will make a difference.

Saw a story in the NY Times.....some diversity activist from Mass was complaining about the lack of minorities in NH. She said she's hard pressed to find anyone she can speak Spanish with up her.
I think we should follow Lewiston Maine's example and ship a couple of thousand Somalians up to the lakes region. It would solve the staffing shortages that many business' are feeling and get a little diversity into the area.

How about some Italians? Would that be diverse enough?

White supremacists? Can't tell if this is a joke or not, but we used to not be able to discuss this stuff here. I would respond, probably resulting in immediately getting this shut down, but I'll refrain...… unless the rules have changed, then maybe I'll jump right in.

One last comment, I love the sign on Rt 25 past Moultonboro Neck Rd. "Welcome to New Hampshire, don't Mass it up." I love that statement.
