Default Housing needed for Winnipesaukee AmeriCorps

Housing is needed for 2 AmeriCorps members serving this year with the Lake Winnipesaukee Association (LWA) as part of the Lakes Region Conservation Corps (LRCC). Lakes Region Conservation Corps (LRCC) is a 22.5 week AmeriCorps service program that provides hands-on conservation work experience over a broad range of areas. LRCC members are the driving force behind many of the conservation efforts of New Hampshire's Lakes Region.

The Winnipesaukee Blue Crew (AmeriCorps) will be assisting LWA in expanding and building on lake protection programs in three main areas: water quality monitoring, education and outreach, and lake management and implementation activities. The AmeriCorps members are a great asset to helping us in our mission to keep Winni blue!

High rents and low vacancy rates in the Lakes Region leave few options for AmeriCorps members. Finding affordable housing is crucial in order for them to be able to serve in the Lakes Region. Host homes are needed from May 20th to the end of October so that AmeriCorps members can make the Winnipesaukee Watershed a better place to live.

If you have a spare room, in-law apartment, vacant cottage or extra space in your home, consider providing a temporary free or low-cost Home for Service to one or both of our Winnipesaukee Blue Crew members. We would appreciate any help in spreading the word. Thank you!!

For additional information, please contact the Lake Winnipesaukee Association at 603-581-6632 or mail@winnipesaukee.org.
