Roberts Cove/Plum Island
We anchored here on Sunday to swim. Saw a dock on Plum Island with a tent off the eastern side. Whats the story there? Does someone own the island?

Is it ok to step on the island as there is no signage prohibiting it?

Looks like maybe it was purchased by Camp Brookwoods in 2000?

Assume island property is privately owned
When in doubt, it's good to assume an island property is privately owned and not open to uninvited visitors. Just like the mainland. I believe - and someone please correct me if this is wrong - but there are a few island properties owned by entities and allow public or member access.
But there isn't much public access so again, assume it's private and you would be trespassing if you go on shore. |
