Default Lenders for seasonal properties

I am looking for recommendations for lenders on a mortgage for a seasonal property. Which local banks should I contact?

Thanks.

Meredith Village Savings Bank. They are great to deal with.

Default Lenders

I think Peoples will do this. Try lynnch98@yahoo.com for the leading mortgage person. Mention the forum. Lynn is great and will give guidance even if not their type of loan. It probably helps if you're a People's customer, but I bet that's true anywhere. Maybe you can become a customer?

DITTO on MVSB, they are local to NH and understand the Lakes Region and its special needs.

I've had zero success on large, national banks, like Chase. I was declined because my land value was more than the house.... duh, I live on the lake, they weren't convinced.

Default Bank of New Hampshire

Tammy Cote, a lake resident herself, is fabulous with lake properties. Tammy is the most helpful and knowledgeable loan officer I have ever met. Her contact information is on the Bank of New Hampshire website.
You will not be disappointed!

I agree with the comments on Tammy Cote. I have done 3 different notes with Bank of NH and Tammy specifically. Very helpful and makes the process easy.

I to would recommend MVSB. Back in early '60s my parents went to them for a mortgage on a cottage in Mltnbro. and got it, even though Dad was currently out of work.

I could never get someone to call me back from BoNH, tried several times, before moving on. I guess YMMV

We used Lori Borrin at MVSB and were very happy. We had some concerns about the process since it was a second home but it was pretty straight forward and was taken care of pretty quickly. Only issues we had during the process were seller related (which in our case was a bank).
