I know it's late in the season, but anyone have leads on availability? I'm in Moultonborough and looking to add whatever I can get up to a cord. Thanks!

Add me to the list, looking for a 1/2 cord stacked in our shed. We’ll burn it next season.

No sources, but just a note that a cord of wood is 4' x 4' x 8' stacked and cannot fit into a standard truck bed.
Also, if hoping to burn this season, should have been split at least a year ago. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G950U using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

What would folks here consider a good price for a half cord seasoned?

Going price seems to be at or just above $300 per cord for split, seasoned and delivered. Usually places that deliver have minimum load sizes.
May do better if you pick it up yourself especially if all you need is 1/2 a cord. |

Under $300, and it's very likely not seasoned. Also, make sure to ask that it's hardwood. I burn pine in the shoulder seasons and a mix of pine/hardwood in the cold season. I scrounge my wood, though.

Their price seems to be $275 seasoned and $175 green for 1/2 cord delivered loose. Seems to be a good price. Sent from my iPad using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

Usually look at the sales ads in Nashua or Manchester. I have found cord wood far cheaper than they are North of Concord.
Back in the days when I had time, I would travel to the apple orchards after the pruning season. I would pick up truckloads of apple tree trimmings and let the age through the summer. Since they are thin they dry out fairly quickly! I would use them to establish my fire from a cold start. Applewood combust quickly and it is hot! Since they burn quickly, I would use normal cord the rest of the day or night. Sometimes I would burn Applewood to heat up the house when the house is cold. Great fuel for it!

Just my 2 cents but I would avoid them like the plague.

I know it's illegal to transport firewood from Mass to NH but can't find any law preventing NH to Mass deliveries. Would like to deliver some cordwood to my daughter in Mass but don't want to run afoul of the law.
I saw on line that you cannot bring firewood into any state park in Mass but nothing about deliveries for household use |

SAMIAM -- that "law" was the result of the "Asian Longhorn Beetle" issue that devoured trees primarily in Central Mass. It was like a virus down here some 5+ years ago infecting & infesting acres upon acres of trees.
I would not be overly concerned now and I do not "think" it applies to wood coming INTO Mass.
