catering advice for a wedding reception

I am helping a friend who is getting married this August at their family house on Alton Bay find a caterer for their wedding. They'd like to have traditional barbecue or smokehouse fare, but nicely presented, with passed hors d'oeuvres and wait and bar staff. I've had a hard time finding anyone in the Winnipesaukee area that seems to fit what they're looking for. Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone used Mame's recently for a catered event? Any advice would be appreciated.

I hired Curt's Caterers in Gilford a couple years ago for a July family 80th birthday party, which included a barbecued meal, and they did an excellent job. The meal was well prepared, presented and served, and the wait staff was friendly, courteous and professional.

I dealt with Joanne Chesley, whom I assume is Curt's wife. (The business is co-owned by Curt and Joanne.)

Both Curt's and Mame's catering are excellent. Contact both, converse, visit, and then decide. You should be able to have a "tasting".

Both have been in business since early to mid-80's. If interested in photography services, both work well with Hawkins of Meredith.
