I have also heard that this year they will be using bigger "class" fireworks and that they will be setting up a barge in the Bay in front of Weirs Beach to discharge them -- thus allowing people onto the beach to view.
If true, this will get interesting placing a Stand Off perimeter for boats which come from all areas to view and especially those traversing through the Channel. Also note that they moved the Fireworks from Friday nights - to Saturday's.

We used to always hear the fireworks from Weirs on this side of the lake but I hardly if ever hear them any more. Maybe these will be louder?

Glad to see the fireworks schedule.
It still makes no sense to me that the July 3rd fireworks are at midnight. Families trying to have their young children enjoy them have to keep the kids up. Many people driving or boating to the fireworks may have consumed alcohol. The later the fireworks are, the bigger the chance for an incident. Boating at night already takes a lot of concentration and awareness so the earlier the fireworks are the more alert people will be. I just don't understand the logic behind having them at midnight! |

Tonight?
Does anyone know if there was a cancellation along the way and they are making it up tonight? We haven’t been yet this year and want to go tonight if there is a show

Much better
Made it to 3 shows this year by boat (including the one that was cancelled due to permit issues). Much better shows than in years past. Longer and louder. Changing to a Saturday (never understood the Friday notes) was much better also. The bay was filled with boats and seemed like a lot more people lined up on the boardwalk. Would be interested to hear from some of the businesses along the Weirs to see if the change brought in more business for them
