Default Web Cam Help?

I love the lakes area web cams and I want to set one up at our camp in Wolfeboro. Is there a website that offers a tutorial on how to set one up? I need to find some simple instructions outlining step by step what I need as far as equipment and procedure. Any help out there?

You can also find lots and lots of info through Google. The Webcam Zone is a good place to start.

Default What about the ISP?

Thanks for your help. These links are very helpful. But a couple questions I have not found answers to yet:

1) Who is a reliable ISP for the wolfeboro area, any suggestions? I found access4less.com is only $5.95 per month.
2) If I use a network camera do i need a high speed connection or will the camera automatically dial up every 10 (or whatever time setting I select) minutes and upload a picture?

My WeirsCAM and the Anchor Marine CAM (runs from the same computer) dials up every 15 minutes, uploads a picture and then disconnects. It has been working fine like that for over 5 years.

Network cameras can be attached directly to an external modem and work in much the same way, just without a computer. The Rattlesnake CAM is setup like that. Using a computer has some advantages but does require more hardware. I can dial in to the WeirsCAM/Anchor Marine CAM computer using PCAnywhere and make adjustments just like I was sitting there. The direct camera/modem setup gives you less control but seems to work fine for many Webcams.

Be careful to pick an ISP that has an access number within the area you can call without extra charges. I picked RCN as my dial-up ISP because they have a Laconia access number. Laconia is in my Verizon "Unlimited Local Calling" service area.

I called into my network camera and changed the timing to call in every 5 minutes so I could get time lapse video of the ice forming.
