Default Downtown Grille - Wolfeboro

They just opened in their new location on Main Street in the former Hall's Pharmacy building. Amazing renovation! They put in large windows overlooking the town docks and Cate Park. There is also seating on the road side and a "private dining room" in the center of the space. Oh, yes - a gas fireplace in the middle that will cheer the patrons in the front section when the weather gets a bit cooler.
Service is by order at the front counter and food is served on plastic platters. Drinks are bottled choices and chips are in bags - all extra. We had lunch there today and the sandwiches (we had BLT's and chicken salad) were just fine. Expect to pay about $10 for your lunch. Breakfast items are a bit less. Not open for dinner as far as I know. And it does have Wi-Fi for those who are interested in that.
They also have a dessert case with interesting items such as swan cream puffs and a variety of Gelato flavors.
I think that it's worth a try.

I agree, excellent - understand that the previous owner sold and the new place opened under new ownership - so far so goo tho.

I had a great lobster roll on Thursday. All lobster meat. No mayo or filler. I think it was about $16.00. The atmosphere was great. I'll be back.

We tried it 2 days ago and loved it. I had the Chicken Salad and my wife had the Black Forest Ham. Both excellent. Prices are reasonable. They did a super job of renovating the facility.

Default Downtown Grille - Wolfeboro

The new owners are doing a really great job, and the newly added staff are working very hard. One particularly nice quality is that one of the owners is around all the time, helping out where necessary, greeting people, THANKING people, and in general doing what an owner ought to be doing.

I wish them the very best, and I urge people from all around to support this restaurant strongly. Now that the crush of summer folks is basically over, there will be a wave of leaf peepers, then it will up to the locals to sustain the businesses in their towns. This is certainly a business which deserves local and regional support.

I forgot to mention that the food is wonderful, and a very appealing variety.

Thumbs up "Downtown Grille"—Thumbs-Up for Breakfast...

Tuesday, the place was packed for breakfast at 10-AM; however, that's the one day that the Wolfeborough Diner (just down the street) is closed for the day. The Wolfeborough Diner is their nearest competition on the street, and has astonishingly fast and cheerful service. At "Downtown Grille", one orders at the counter, and the servings are brought to your table by staff.

All of the new interior is remarkable—nicely done, new owners!

We managed to get one of the [only] two window seats—not that it mattered, as there was no boating or any other kind of activity outside.

The window seats are sunny—and as it was a bit warm, we could control the breeze coming off the water by cranking open a window. If more cooling is needed, a side door adjacent to the window tables opens outside to the Town docks.

The "private area" was occupied at the time, and looked like an interesting spot for a small group to gather around an elevated TV set: seated where we were, we heard nothing coming from the TV: But like Johnson's in New Durham, there is no attempt to moderate the ambient noise level inside. (Depending on the crowd, that noise level can be quite high).

The Breakfast menu is written in "upscale" language. It was pricey but tasty fare. Our table was generally delighted with everything.

I don't know how they'll manage the business with relatively few tables. (Just one person occupied a table with a connection to the provided Wi-Fi.)

Otherwise, it's a very welcome addition to downtown Wolfeboro.
