Too-Cool有and Maintenance Winch...
Where was this item thirty years ago?
Bolt up your chainsaw, secure to a tree, then drag 'most anything around your lot. Log? Boat? Dock? Raft? Boulder? Stuck truck? Discussed HERE: |

Believe I saw a gas powered winch pretty similar to that, made by Makita, at Heath's Hdwe, just across from their freebie, courtesy hardware store coffee give-a-way. Did you know that Makita makes a gasoline powered chainsaw in Makita blue.
....hey...if you are look'n for something to do while waiting for the next snowstorm...could be a good opportunity to go hang at the local hardware and spend an hour perusing the world of Makita with a free cup of hardware store coffee...E M Heath Hardware....Centre Harbor....very close to the shore of beauteous Lake Winnipesaukee and the winter storage of the Mount Washington www.cruisenh.com/webcam.html

Makita 520i Chainsaw
Hello folks,
I got one of those blue makita's about 8 years ago -- it works like a champ. Bought it after the cheapo one I had prior failed, the 5th time I used it. The cheap one probably made about 30 cross cuts total before the clutch bearing assembly siezed things up. I got the makita at PJ Currier Hardware in Amherst. Currently have it set up in a log slabbing assembly; tried making some birch planks with it this fall. Despite my inexperience, they look alright Now that chainsaw winch is a beauty! (All sorts of uses for a tool like that!) When building my camp on rattlesnake, I used a harbor freight 8000lb rated jeep winch, bolted to boulders, to help pull the trees in the building site the right way before cutting them -- that worked great, too. Gotta love tools... Andrew |

FLL is the only person who will burn $3.00 in gas for a free $1.00 cup of coffee.
