Default Direct TV price increases

We are new to the lakes region in Laconia and Direct TV raised our rates twice in last 5 months. What other options for TV in Laconia are good ?

Thanks in Advance,
Pete

Not sure what's available up there, but we've gone to internet and basic digital cable through Comcast ($80, includes HBOGo) and Netflix. For less than $100/mth. we get plenty of options and local.

Default Roku Stick

Got rid of cable and use my Roku stick! You take the stick anywhere where there is Wi-Fi! Never miss cable.

I have had them all! While they all have their quirks in my opinion dish network far supersedes all the others for TV options anyways....

Won't give you every channel, but these HD channels are FREE and are actually really high quality. If you go the home theater stores, many are actually airing these on their projectors due to quality. Best of all it's free. You just need to supply the antenna (think they are not anywhere from $200-$300), but not the old style ones. They now have much smaller ones that you can just throw in your attic for example.

Throw in your address in the link below and see if the lineup appeals to you. Can compliment with what you don't get by streaming the rest.

Times have changed with Direct TV. After AT&T bought them.

I have been with Direct TV since Pegasus had the contract.

Normally you call up every year and threaten to cancel. Then they give you some sort of discount. Usually $20.00 off bill for a year.

That is gone now or at least the last time I tried. My bill went up over $100.00 with zero premium channels.

So last Summer I actually cancelled Direct TV after many years. I waited about 2 weeks and called again. Yep, no regular TV for 2 weeks.

I called again after the 2 weeks. This time I got the reinstall reps. Since I had all of the equipment, there is no installation charge.

My bill now is around $66.00 with two HD receivers. One being a DVR.
AND
Direct TV sent me a $200.00 debit/gift card.

I own my receivers so there was no sending back of anything.

Go figure.

I really can't stand the whole TV musical chairs game anymore. I just inquired about a new package with TWC/Spectrum and they can't give it to me because I am a current customer. I can't believe how hard these companies make it to stay a customer with them.

Cancel and use your spouse's name. Or another family member.
