Default Cake bakery recommendations

My daughter's 18th birthday is in a few weeks, and we will be celebrating from seclusion on the island... Not the way I'm sure she envisioned it! We would like to get a great birthday cake for her - any suggestions or recommendations of bakers that could do something for us? Thanks in advance!

Call Cup and Crumb- Jennifer Clifford did pretty darn good in this contest. They are closed, but message them.

Default Oo La La Creative Cakes

Oo la la Creative Cakes, Laconia. I used this lady a few years ago for my wife's 50th birthday party. She was just starting out and worked out of her apartment in Meredith, (the baker, not my wife..). Good to see her biz has grown and she now has a storefront in laconia and a website as well. The cake was great to look at and even better to eat!

While Cup and Crumb may be closed, I believe that Jen Clifford has her own cake business out of her home on Moultonborough Neck Road. Check out her Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/maddnmitt/

I do not know if she is currently doing cake orders, but I can tell you for sure that her creations are fantastic, both in looks and taste.

Laconia Village Bakery - used them a couple of times for birthday cakes and they were awesome. Other goodies too.

Picked up this Mother's Day cake from For Goodness Cakes (Cup and Crumb) this morning, and it's amazing (clearly we couldn't wait)!

Vanilla cake with chocolate/peanut butter/raspberry fillings and buttercream frosting.

Not fair. Making me feeling starved for cake.
I had a friend in Boston who had the best everything I have had. Every year I ordered 17 Christmas cakes to give out. The cake was his white wedding cake with raspberry filling. Topped with whipped cream frosting. Decorated for Christmas as each was decorated differently. This cake was so delicious and moist, everyone said they didn't know a white cake could be soo good.

They're not local (Maryland) but there is a bakery that has been in operation since the 1800's that has developed a national following for cakes and baked goods: Smith Island Cakes.

see: https://smithislandcake.com/?gclid=E...SAAEgJI9PD_BwE

They ship.

Darned expensive, though.

Default Village Bakery Laconia

Made a dark chocolate cake with coffee frosting, so moist!
They also do carrot cakes that are heavenly!
