Old Winni Slides

I found these three slides of the lake in a collection of commericial slides. Some indicate that they were published by Don Sieburg & Co, New London NH.

My Grandmother worked at Technicolor in the 60's and I believe she took the slides as rejects. There are dozens of different scenes from around North America, but the labels are double printed or just wrong.

I'm willing to donate a set of the actual Winni slides to any historic entity that wants them and will preserve them.

I would love copies of the pictures before you give them away... or I would volunteer to help upload to Photopost so our viewers can see them.

I found another slide. It's a little beat up. I will upload all four to photopost if the webmaster is OK with it.

I will also try to clean them and then rescan. Does anyone have a safe cleaner for old Plastichrome slides? I have plenty of duplicates of non-descript scenery to experiment on.

Probably a good "museum" to have them is Lake Winnipesaukee Museum, in Weirs Beach, next to Weirs Times offices. Ann Sprague is the Director.

Worth a shot to inquire of the safe keeping. Obviously slides do not display well; maybe professionally made prints is best way to display, and an album.

Weirs Guy - That's the Wolfeboro Town Docks. The large three story building was known as the Peavey Block when it was built in 1890. Now known as the Avery Block. - McD

Picture number three is the wharf at Alton Bay. I used to dive for coins there, many years ago.

I've been too busy to play with slides and get everything ready, I hope to find some time this weekend.

Weirs Channel
Alton Bay
