Boat Title in NH ?
Can someone from Forum tell me if the state of NH has boat Titles?
If so, do I need to present a boat Title in order to register a boat, Or will a Bill Of Sale, be proof of ownership? I know there is a DMV/RMV form which is available, which describes boat, VIN#, etc., which can be used, and filled out by local police dept. to confirm VIN#. Is this same form used to obtain a new Title? First time buying a boat in N.H., so uncertain about such regulations. Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated ! BD |

NH does not title boats. All you need to register your boat in NH is proof of ownership. A Bill of Sale is adequate proof. There is no specific Bill of Sale form that is required. At a minimum, I would suggest that the Bill of Sale reference the hull ID#. A registration form (RDMV 110), showing the required information, can be found here:
http://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/dmv/forms.html A boat trailer DOES require a title. Information applicable to trailer titling/registration can be found at the same website listed above. |

I believe you also need the previous registration slip signed over to you. So the current/most recent registration doubles as a title.
