Default Meredith Top 10 East Coast

Travel and Leisure published an article titled "10 of the best small towns on the east coast." Meredith was in the top 10.

Travel and Leisure is one of the most popular travel magazines in the world. It has 4.8 million readers. With Meredith in the top 10 list for the east coast, expect the demand this summer and fall season to be over the top.

Realtor.com just posted the fastest growing real estate markets in the US right now, Manchester/Nashua area and Concord.
NH is in for another year of population growth. I think last year was 12 percent, this year could be even bigger.

Default Small Town?

Per the article: "At the present time, there are only 9 single-family homes for sale. The average listing price is $929,400. The median listing price is $624,900." Not what I think of as small town. But I'm happy for the people of Meredith. Maybe this means it will be easier to tie up in Wolfeboro and Center Harbor?

For years, we've heard about the aging population of NH causing economic issues, so maybe it's not a terrible thing?

This is great news about Meredith and the Lakes region making the top ten list,
of course, we all knew this before as one of the best all-around places to live.
The word is out, people are bailing out of the big cities, within NH and other states, and coming to the lakes region to live, work, and play.

The increase in real estate prices, is a two edged sword, great if you're selling your house, but bad if your buying. This upward trend in prices will continue to drive home prices out of the reach of the average family. And forget about 'building', with the cost of materials, the cost per square foot is crazy, and almost becoming cost-prohibitive, unless of course, money is no object !

With increasing of home prices, the valuations will also drive real estate taxes upwards, to a point where, families who want to live in the area, cannot afford the real estate taxes any longer.

Seen too many folks move out of NH, and move to southern states,
FL SC, NC. etc, for lower housing prices and taxes, not because they want to, but compelled to do so for financial reasons.

Just my 2 cents.......

Avoiding “that” intersection during the summer months is a goal of mine
