The rich history and lore of the Lakes Region is fantastic! When I read the part about the Peak House being cabled to the mountain, and still being blown away,... I guess the summit is high enough to catch the jet stream on occasion at 3500 feet!

Just looking at that photo of the house kind of tells you it would not be there very long.You don't see any trees able to exist in that exposure.

Also,.. although not being of the superstitious sort myself, there are many whom would believe that Chief Chocorua's curse had a lot to do with the demise of the Peak House.
