I agree wish I had more free time but November is always a busy month. Looks like you had a beautiful ride.

Dunno about November boating, but I love your user name and wish I'd thought to use it.

I've often thought it would be great to have a smaller outboard powered boat, perhaps a center console with a T-top with windshield and maybe side curtains. Launch it, go for a nice putt putt cruise on a warm sunny day, then put it back on the trailer. When you think the season is truly over, fog the engine and change the lower unit lubricant. Kiss the cowling goodnight and say see you in the spring.

www.heatedwetsuitreviews.com is about battery powered, heated wet suit vests that can be worn while using a jet-ski, sup, small sailboat, kayak ..... under a wetsuit, or under regular clothing while boating ..... and available for $225 .... if you look around.
It definitely warms you up because it warms up the core area ..... stomach-chest-back. Plus, water sports in cold weather gives you a good excuse to go buy that $2.50 six-pak of day old, home made, yummy brown sugar donuts, at Heath's in Center Harbor ..... way in the back of the store.

Our 21' boat has a heater. We close up the windshield, crank the heat and its glorious for fall and spring. Once you get back in the boat dry off and then we have a surfinity blanket that hooks up to the heater hose it self. Blows hot air all through the blanket and gets you nice and toasty! Didn't put much stock into it at first but after a few seasons it awesome.

Have to agree with Prestige...this is a great time to still be out! You have the entire lake basically to yourself!
Normally we are still out at camp this time of year but due to certain circumstances we left mid October. My brother in law still has his pontoon barge in the water so I will most likely take another trip out to the camp this weekend, maybe even crack a bottle of wine and light a fire in the fire pit!! ![]() ![]() Dan

I only visit the lake one or two times a year. But two years ago my wife and I and the kids spent Thanksgiving on the lake at a hotel. I kicked myself for not bringing the boat. It was gorgeous weather, and I didn't see anyone out there. I think November is under-rated.

A lot of the local residents will tell you that the week after Labor Day is the best week of the season. The lake is quiet, the water is still warm, and the tourists have left.
Shhhhhhhh................Don't tell anyone........... |

Boating in the cold does nothing for me. This is the time of year to start getting the sleds ready for the upcoming season!!! My favorite time of year. Football, Holidays, Family, Food, and sledding!!!! By far, my most favorite thing to do. I love sledding so much, I think about it cruising in the boat across the Broads in the middle of July!! Nothing like being up in the Mountains on your sled on a nice cold, beautiful, bright, sun shiny day!! What a country we live in. So Blessed.

When you have high school fall athletes summer ends around August 15th when practices begin. After our younger child graduated and went off to college we discovered there’s a whole different feel to the lake in September and October. Some years the dock came out Labor Day weekend. We never knew it could be so good.

And that makes boating this late kind of scary. If you have a problem, there are very few people around to rescue you or help you.

Forgot something when we closed up for the winter and now the boat is out of the water. Wondering if there is anyone with a boat still in the water that I could hire in the Sleepers or Rattlesnake area to get a quick ride out there?!

Welcome to the Forum.
Many marinas keep a work boat active until very late. Try WAM. Alternatively, they know who is still active and might help with a connection. Can't tell you how many times we've left what we thought was important on the island. When we arrived in the spring, still there, no problem. It's amazing that people pack up stuff and bring it home because it might freeze, and then store it someplace unheated. |

Most of the island service\contractors work out there year round. Could try to hitch a ride with one of them.

There were four work boats/pontoons docked at Glendale yesterday late morning, FYI.
