Default Anyone know what this is?

Walking the trails on Stonedam Island last week, I came across this strange fungus? Mushroom? Alien life form?

I've never seen it before and can't seem to find out what it is by searching the internet. I must be using the wrong search terms or something.

Anyone know what it is?

Default Fantastic forage

If you’re intrigued by that and would like to learn more about the wonderful things that can be found in the woods this time of year come by the fantastic forage on September 28 and 29th. www.fantasticforge.com It’s a free and very educational experience

Some may say that there are only two types of mushroom forgers; those who have died, and those who haven’t died yet. I believe there’s a third type. That would be the educated type.

Looks as though somebody didn’t like his broccoli or cauliflower.
