Looking for Hardscaping Patio & Fire Pit

I am looking for a contractor that can do up to 800 sq ft of patio and another 150 sq ft for a fire pit using pavers to keep the cost down. We are located in Moultonboro.

I have already explored the big guns on the north side of the lake.
Miracle Farms, Stevens, Pine Ridge. Prices appear outrageous to me, but what do I know. I also got a quote from a young guy thinking he would be reasonable since he was starting out, and he was just as high.

Can anyone recommend other contractors that can do a job of this size. I am looking at adding Granite stairs and other work in Phase 2 also, but want to see this done first.

I'd be interested to know this as well. We want to get some landscape/hardscape work done as well and the three mentioned were the three we were going to call.

All contractor prices are outrageous but that's beside the point. My wife and I are doing something similar with pavers and a little chiminea area around our new addition. We pretty much have fine sand on our property so it’s easy to grade plus I have a little Kubota with bucket and backhoe to ease the back pain.
I wanted a chiminea rather than a pit so I can move it for the winter to plow a path back there.

Not sure what you're getting for prices but I've priced out materials only for a 400 sq ft patio with relatively low priced pavers and the materials alone were over 2K and I already have a fire pit.
So I think materials for a job like yours would be more than double and then double that in labor. So My guess would be around 10K for what you're looking to do.
I'm going to do mine myself but I also have a Kubota to help with the heavy lifting.

Last year, granite steps and paved walk, about 55 feet. Top step weighed 2400 lbs. About $9500 from my regular landscaper. He does top notch work so I did not bid it. I like top notch and have had many compliments. In So. NH, not close to MB. Get somebody who is top notch and don't quibble over lowest price. You'll be happy. And you'll have somebody trusted to call for the next job. Depending on the job, I tip $50-$100 per worker. These guys are fairly but not highly paid, and it goes a long way for subsequent routine work. Don't be cheap for a 520 year project. You'll get it back.

What were you expecting it to cost? I know down in Southern NH pavers run about $18-$24 a sq foot installed. We just had our pool done and it's 1000 sq ft of Techo Bloc pavers and a fire pit which was another 188 sq ft of pavers plus the fire pit and it came in around $23,000 for that.

Quotes over $25 sq ft, yours came in at $19.36. big difference in my eyes

The amount of work needed varies with each project making it difficult to compare one person's experience from another's.

I had a patio/ fire pit done by Stephens last year. The amount of rock they removed was incredible. Approx. 5 dump trucks full. I transformed an area of unusable rock to a beautiful addition that has received so many compliments.

Hunter, the foreman for Stephens, brought his girlfriend by to look at the final project and see it lit up at night.

Not sure if I'd be as happy if I'd used a bargain contractor.

One advantage to Stephens, other than experience, is they have all the equipment for any job. It took them about three weeks.

I agree $25 is high. Hopefully you can find someone who does good work for an amount you are comfortable with.
