Boat Fire at Akwa Vista
Just saw this post this morning. About 4 slips from my boat. Calling the marina this morning for a status on my boat.

Having Put Out Two Fires, Myself...
Overheard in the short video, "...He tried with his little extinguisher...".
Fire extinguishers should be aimed at the base of the flames. (Fuel-fed fires, especially).

Spoke to Akwa Marina. No issues with my boat but I will do a complete inspection especially looking for damage to the canvas. They are not sure of the cause but likely a spark from the automatic bilge switch in the engine compartment combine with gasoline fumes

Picture from FD Facebook. Article on WMUR News said boat has not been used in days. Great job by the First Responders. Glad everyone is OK.

Hmmm
Once I saw the two eighty it got me thinking...I've seen a boat that looks similar for sale! Note - I do not think it's the same boat, but if it is it is one hot boat!

Horrible situation for the boat owner....not sure this thread belongs in Boat Repairs and Maintenance after looking at the picture.

How does a boat burn like that and not explode? Is the fuel tank in that boat still intact, with fuel in it, I wonder? I wouldn't think there would be much left of that boat if it exploded, not to mention the ones next to it... Amazing there was no "domino" effect.
