Iv'e gone out on one of Gauron's trips out of Hampton. We caught a lot of fish. It was worth it. How big is your boat?

Question Winni Cod Fishing

I love fishing for cod, but to be extremely honest with everyone, I do not even think of going cod fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee, for good reason.

I go cod fishing in Cape Cod bay.

Has anyone caught a cod on the lake? If so, how big was the fish and what was on the end of your line?

No idea why this thread is here.

I was wondering that myself, but when our administrator moved it here instead of deleting it I figured it was OK to continue.

From ice fishing for cusk,

"Who are these brave people and what are they fishing for? They're after cusk, burbot, ling or lawyers, depending on your preferred namesake – few freshwater fish species are addressed by so many common names; “cusk” is the most commonly applied moniker in New Hampshire. The object of attention is the only freshwater member of the codfish family, which bears resemblance to an eel possessing a broad head and enormous mouth.

New Hampshire is blessed with cold, deep, natural lakes that have sustained the native fauna in their deep basins since the retreat of the glacial ice sheet ten to twenty thousand years ago. The cusk is one of our native fishes, and flourishes right under the noses, or "feet", of many anglers who have never seen or angled for them".
