Default Porcupine

Anyone know if Porcupines are normally out this time of year? Had one in our yard waddling through the deep snow, just didn't look right.

They do not hibernate however they don't travel far from their den. Mostly short waddling to a nearby tree to climb and have a snack.

We occasionally see them while skiing. Usually up in a tree snacking or snoozing

This one came clear across a field, around our house, sniffed around the deer feeder and continued on. Seemed to be on a a mission, never came back through.

Almost 50 years old, lived in NH my whole life, never seen anything like it. lol

I didn't see that sign. He must have been crossing illegally. I should have run him over.
