Default Great blue heron

Spotted this one catching a tasty meal in the marsh area between McDonalds and the car wash on Union Ave in Laconia. The water levels are very low in there, so it's good hunting for the GBH.

Default Mr. Heron

Affectionately known as Mr. Harry E. Heron by the locals. Huge bird and majestic in flight.
Wonderful photo Airedale!

Default Four legged mammals

Very Nice Photo ............ very nice!

They are an amazing bird to watch when they are hunting.

Only just the other day I discovered this video. (while searching for something else) I always thought they only ate little aquatic things like frogs and fish.

I never knew they went after four legged mammals too. And they are very efficient at it too. Maybe thats why they hang out so close to the Margate Resort.

Surf and Turf.

Just another reason I am happy to not be a fish!

Nice shot with the fish suspended in mid chomp!
