Default Oh Deer!

Last weekend I spotted a family of deer in Gilford. There was this buck, a doe and two fawns. I only managed to capture images of the buck and one of the fawns before they all took off.

Both taken from inside my car with Canon 7D2 and Canon EF 70-200 f/4.0 IS.

Nice shot! I'm surprised that the buck was there as they do not function as a "family unit" so to speak. The only time a buck is (usually) seen with or near a doe is during the rut when he's following or chasing her to mate. After the rut, the bucks and does separate into groups of their own sex...
I'm sure some of the "animal rights" groups and un-informed people would like to believe that they practice survival as a family unit but it just ain't so!
Anyway, beautiful shot of that 8 pointer and fawn!
