Default .... Center Harbor tennis backboard?

Talking about playing/learning/practicing tennis .... on March 2, 2017 .... the old tennis hitting backboard at the two Center Harbor tennis courts .... was blown over by the big snow and wind storm....and was removed about one month later.

The Center Harbor tennis practice backboard is still awaiting for a new replacement backboard?

The old backboard was constructed with 4x8 plywood panels and 2x6 construction lumber, painted green, with a white line to approximate a tennis net, and could have been in use for many years, like since the 1970's? It's size was 12' high x 24' wide, and it was the best hitting practice backboard around the area.

Looking at local tennis: Ashland-2 courts, Center Harbor-2 courts, Holderness-2 courts, Holderness School-8 courts, Plymouth-4 courts, Meredith-6 courts, Moultonborough-4 courts, Laconia- 5 & 2-courts, Gilford-5? courts, Wolfeboro-4? courts, Plymouth State University-8 proposed outdoor courts, to be built soon behind the huge, new AllWell North building, Waterville Valley tennis club-18 red clay courts, Gilford Hills tennis club-4 indoor courts

Tennis hitting backboards can either be built with 4x8 plywood, and structural 2x6 lumber, or made with fiberglass panels specifically designed for tennis .... the home made plywood panels, painted green, with a slight upward lean of 10-degrees seem to be the best.

Here's hoping that Center Harbor can find the money to rebuild a new 12' high x 24' wide plywood green backboard to replace the old one which was destroyed by old age and the weather on March 2, 2017. .....

Playing tennis is like the cheapest sport around ...... for 20-dollars total at Walmart ..... you can get a good starter racket for just $15, 3-tennis balls for $2, and a red, white or black wrist sweat band for $3 ..... and start to become the next Serena Williams/Roger Federer, both age-36, with a practice hitting backboard at your free to use, local tennis court ... especially if it has a tennis hitting backboard.

Don't you know the White House has an outdoor tennis/basketball court but, it has no tennis hitting practice backboard, and the current occupant could definitely be using one .... April, 2015: Donald and Serena hit a few balls at an indoor court in Virginia ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBk8Rigopug and yes, that's really Serena Williams ... tennis hitting backboards are excellent for practice and there's no need for a second person ..... is best practiced by oneself which makes it easier to use ...

The muscles in your arm, along with your vision and sense of timing all work together to hit the tennis ball, the way it is supposed to be hit, and the backboard immediately sends the ball back for another swing, again and again and again ..... it's a very simple ..... and a very effective method for practicing tennis. As a tennis practice that's easily done by oneself, it is a lot more available than practicing with a tennis partner, and more available to do for tennis training.

Default ... practice for tennis and pickleball

Meredith and Moultonborough have hitting backboards set up within the inside of the chain link fence that surrounds their tennis courts. All across the country it is very common to have a backboard like this at public tennis courts. It encourages people to practice, and helps a lot to introduce newbie players to tennis. The home made plywood backboards that go from the court surface, up to 12' high, seem to be a good design, and last for many years, like 25+ years, with exterior plywood, pressure treated lumber, weather resistant screws. and green paint.

If Ashland, Center Harbor, Holderness, or Plymouth constructed the 12' high x 24' wide, plywood painted green with a white net line, hitting backboard ..... it seems like a very useful place to practice tennis or pickleball .... yes?

Definitely ...... group tennis lessons are a good learning experience, and a lot of fun, too ..... using the backboard for practice by oneself is good, too ... and not too expensive for your town to construct?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVWl_Uwm-Qk ... something like this, 12'-high x 24'-wide, 9 staggered sheets of plywood, with a slight 10-degree upward slope, for use at a public court, up tight against the surround chain link fence.

Down here on the poor, Walmart side of the lake, we simply cannot afford the $90 for five, very fun, 1-hour tennis group lessons on Wednesdays in July or August at the Holderness Elementary School 2-courts and very much appreciate the Moultonborough-4 courts and Meredith-6 courts (two w/night lighting) which have some very usable tennis hitting backboards .... so thanks!
