Default Donating Household Items

We are combining households and have a number of household items that are in great condition. Things like pots, pans, dishes, other kitchen things, christmas items, just lots of items that would help someone who was setting up a home for the first time.

Looking for some outlets that may find these items useful and can put them to good use....thoughts ?

Thank you !

Call "Habitat for Humanity" in Holderness/Ashland...they may be interested in some of the items. Will pick up for free.

Default The Meredith Thrift Store

In downtown Meredith, close to the Post Office, down around the corner on Water St, down from the Phu-Jee Restaurant, is the Meredith Thrift Store on Water St; open Wed-Thurs-Fri-Sat from 10-4. Just stop by and drop the items off, and you may want to ask for a tax-deductible receipt. Also, there's an after hours drop off bin-cabinet just outside the front door for small household items, clothes, sports, tools, repair and small furniture.

The Meredith Thrift has contributed thousands and thousands of dollars to a few different local food pantries.
..........

In Laconia, the Saint Vincent de Paul thrift store www.stvdplaconia.org has a large Chevy cube truck with two volunteers for removing your un-wanted items, and they will remove furniture like sofas, desks, chairs, breakfronts, art works-drawings, and appliances like refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers, and power tools like table saws and radial arm saws.

There is a church on Bean Street in Center Harbor that takes donations of almost anything. The do not want CRT TVs though. I have been able to cull a lot of unused household items there. You can leave them on the porch in the front of the church.

Default Thank you to all who responded!

My wife and I dropped a station wagon full of household items off at St. Vicent's in Laconia today. The ladies who assisted us could not have been nicer or more appreciative. It is is nice leaving there with the sense that the donation will be going to a very good cause. Thanks as always for everyone's help and input.

Default .....new thrift store - Water St, Meredith

As you probably know, the old thrift store on Water St, run by Lisa, was closed permanently on about November 30, 2015.

Well, much to my surprise, there is a new thrift store in the same location with new people, and it looks like a good one with low low prices ...... and high high quality. Not as low as Lisa's prices but still pretty low! Different people, different store, same location; open Monday-Saturday 10am - 5pm.

It seems like many people live like they are a candidate to get on the Hoarder's TV Show, where you got so much stuff that you got no more room in your house ......just too much stuff! Well, if you are looking for a place to donate something that has some value ..... and you do not want to go through the lengthy selling process to get it sold at the Etcetera Shoppe ..... and you don't want to unload it at the Meredith Transfer Station free store ......well....here's a good spot with long hours to get rid of it! Goodbye old unused stuff .....goodbye and good riddance!

You will be a better person with less clutter! ......Gerronomo .....time to de-clutter .... clothing, furniture, electronics, household items, kitchen items, sports items, woman's pocket books ....... ( but no tv screens.)!!!
