Default Wolfeboro 4th of July parade

Anyone go to the Wolfeboro 4th of July parade this year? Any good entries/floats?

I did not attend, but did hear that the lawn chair drill team is always funny.

I went but we were kind of disappointed that most of the floats are not decorated like they used to be. People want to advertise which is great but they could at least make a little more effort.

It was lame, town needs to consider cancelling it. The last thing the summer visitors want to see is a hick parade tying up traffic on July 4th

The parade was wonderful, and it featured a lot of entries that required hours of work and/or practice. The community spirit in this town and the generosity with which folks donate their time and labor is amazing. Those who criticize really should think about how much time *they* have put into preparing a float for the parade! Is it the Rose Bowl? Nope. No hype here. It's a "board game" in a world of "video games." Wolfeboro has a unique celebration of American Independence and if you can't enjoy it for what it is, I feel sorry for you. Great job and thank you to the marchers.

September, I agree with you on some points. However, it seems that the floats could at least put some streamers on them and maybe a couple of other things and not just stick one or two flags on. I have had several people mention this to me. When we used to have a float in the parade we worked for weeks getting it ready and I wouldn't expect anybody to do that any more but they could at least spend a couple of hours. We used to make thousands of those kleenex flowers. Remember them?
