Depends somewhat on where the pick up point is.
We've used Island Support Service with good success (603)293 HELP. Last one was a new refrigerator. They pick up at Gilford Lowe's, delivered to Welch Island, and installed, including a waterline for the ice-maker. I have no idea whether they used a boat or a barge (probably boat). One stop shopping. We call them and when we show up next, the work is done. They pick the day when the seas are calm.
We have carried huge amounts of furniture, appliances, building materials, machinery, etc. on the back of a variety of boats. The larger problem is manpower to load and unload at either end. If you're paying an hourly rate for a barge, you don't want them sitting while you take time to load/unload.

Call Mike @ Winnipesaukee Island Services (*+1 (603) 707-4677‬). Great guy. Has several pontoon barges.

I recall ISS has a special rate if you provide the muscle for loading and unloading at both ends. I forget the exact fee but something like $200-$250 for 2-3 hours. At that rate they only provide the pontoon barge and a driver.

I've used ISS a lot the in past 3 years. Lumber, Sakrete, appliances. I try to arrange for them to haul junk / trash back on the return trip to save money.
Good guys.

Mark

I have also used ISS for transport of items to the island and back. Good service at a reasonable cost. They have several stripped pontoon boats and a crew of strong guys.

You can call Chip at 603-393-9620

Their web site is temporarily off line for rebuilding.

Default Where are you?

Can't tell you how many tines I 've bit my tongue and been quiet on these questions. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL US WHERE YOU ARE. Moultonborough is a long way from Gilford or Laconia. Wolfeboro is a long way from Meredith, etc. Please consider the geographic area your are requesting from. This is a Winnipesaukee/ Lakes Region website not your hometown.

I've had good service from Kevin Beckett and the Kitty Belle particularly with septic pump out and service. He teams up with Lamprey Septic, they bring the honey wagon out on the barge. We've arranged our pump out together with our neighbor to help with the barge cost.
