Thanks BI. I saw a barge offloading a bunch of white "blocks?" the other day with a little skiploader. I wondered what was going on. Thanks for maintaining a camera.

It looks like the cabin where the Pine Island cams are has been torn down and the construction is to replace it.

I zoomed in and noticed two cameras above the door that are monitoring the outside. Is this an area that has had robbery/burglary problems?
Can't wait to see this place in daylight.

There are three cameras looking out the kitchen window. You can watch them at www.bearchow.com when there is daylight.

Looking at you image capture I see I left the kleenex on the kitchen counter.

I like the way the steps are built to your deck...you can use them from the back or front....that must come in handy at times.

I see construction with a backhoe continues this morning. It appears the foundation is very close to the water. I thought that a property could be grandfathered in, if new construction uses the same foundation proximity to the lake as the torn down structure. So why the backhoe?

Looks like an excavator to me.

It looks like they are doing some landscaping around the foundation. Hard to tell if it is a new foundation or one that was there.

The front to back stairs on our cabin was my wife's idea. And it was a good one.

I'm pretty sure the old cabin on Pine was on pilings and is now gone. We are looking at a new foundation. Hopefully we can see the new cabin being built. Then again, it may be more than a "cabin".

yes - the old house is gone and new one underway. You can read my experiences with the DES/CSPA on other threads, but the end result is that we are rebuilding in the same footprint as the old cottage. The old house was on pilings, the new one will have a full foundation (actually the foundation is complete).

Does the same footprint cover an existing porch, which is not part of the original foundation? Just curious, if we ever decide to to rebuild. To be clearer, could a new building be built that would cover the same area where there was a porch? Thought you might know.Thanks.

Decks/porches on the existing house could not be turned in to an expansion of living space. Where our house was already very close to the shorefront, that would have put the 'house part' even closer.

The footprint size of our existing house was fine by us, so we didn't try to expand it, but did want to go from a one-story to two-story. So house is still house, and deck is still deck.

Hope this helps, and Shore Things will know the definitive answer for sure!

p.s. I believe that the CSPA and/or Meredith Zoning allows for a 12' projection of deck/porch beyond the living space... so by allowing the house to expand to cover an existing deck, you would then be able to add more deck beyond that - which I don't believe is the intention of the regulations
