Need a referral for dryer vent repair

Hi Guys,
I need to find someone (Quick) that can replace a dryer vent that has broken under a tiled floor with a finished basement! I have a new dryer coming next Monday and just found out the old one was damaged by mice. Any recommendations in the Moultonboro area?

No but for an interim solution, there is a water trap device that you stick then end of a vent hose into. A friend of mine had one about 15 years ago when there line got blocked. I think it came for Home Depot but I'm not sure.

It had a hole in it, mice got in and built a nest (goodness knows when) but when o tried to clean it all out., I found the vent hole was torn apart from the mice about two - three feet away from where the vent how through the floor. I think I'm going to have to cut open my ceiling in the finished basement I. Order to fix it.

The link I provided will show you what these look like. They are really just a lint trap using water. If you do install a new flex duct make sure to use the metal flex to keep the little critters out.

We had somewhat similar issue in the condo that we purchased 3 years ago ..... stupidly, the dryer vent is routed above the kitchen ceiling and in reality(wrongfully) tied into the half bath ceiling fan as well.

the amount of lint build up was beginning to scare the hell out of us as we were unable to properly "snake" the entire length.

Our solution was to purchase a "Vent less" Dryer/ washer combo ....... not the ideal situation but let's us sleep at night........... you mentioned that you had a new dryer on order - perhaps a good time to rethink the brand ?

You probably already realized it but just to be safe, those water traps are only suitable for electric dryers unless you can run it outside. Gas dryers exhaust CO & CO2 through the vent line.

Expect it to get humid.

I was assuming Eagle was talking about a duct for the heat/moisture from an electric. If its for the combustion of a gas dryer then forget my suggestions.

Thank you all for your comments. (It IS an electric dryer, and yes I was aware that gas can not be vented inside, but it was very important to mention). It appears I will be cutting my ceiling and replacing with steel venting. The inside venting (I've been told by people who has used them( they are very messy to clean, and the moisture added can cause mold and mildew. Now I need a good plastered to repair my ceiling.
