I’m looking for someone who can repair a record turntable that was damaged by a moving company. Anyone have a recommendation?

Audio Lab in Cambridge Mass. is the place to go.
Another possibility is to ask at Pitchfork Records and Stereo in Concord NH and they will probably say Audio Lab in Cambridge.

What is wrong with the turntable, and what brand is it?
Many years ago at the start of my career I used to repair Garrard turntables. 99% of the time they just needed a cleaning to replace some grease that would harden over time causing the mechanism to jam. It was one of those secrets similar to the story of the man with a small hammer that charged $10,000 to fix an expensive piece of machinery with just a "tap...tap...tap" with his hammer! You weren't paying for the 30 seconds of his work, but for his many years of experience to know precisely where to "tap...tap...tap"! I think the owner of the shop where I worked charged $20 (back in 1976) for the service that took me literally 5 minutes to perform. ![]()

Downtown Laconia. They know of an elderly gentleman who restores/repair vintage audio equipment. He restored my Marantz 4240 and Sony TC-161SD cassette player. Give them a call! https://nhvintagevinyl.com/
