Full Moon Setting over Lockes Island
Taken this morning from Big Pier at LSP, -11 degrees!
It was a beautiful Full Moon SETTING. The moon was setting in the West as the sun was rising over rattlesnake in the East. It started out White, then Yellow then a flaming red just before it disappeared. The Cold Moon "December: The Cold Moon Winter takes a firm hold and temperatures plummet at this time. Sometimes this moon is also called the Long Night Moon as the winter nights lengthen and the moon spends more time above the horizon opposite a low sun. The full moon name often used by Christian settlers is the "Moon before Yule"." http://www.moonconnection.com/full-moon-names.phtml
