Default What is Winni record size for Lake Trout?

My son and I were trolling Meredith bay last night and he landed a 12lb. 31 inch lake trout. What is the Winni record for a lake trout?

Arrow Search here on the Fourm

A few years ago a picture of a monster laker was posted and discussed.
(On my cell, so I am limited in ability and desire to search.)

What a great catch! Can you post a picture for us?!

Default Ok here is the proof

Ok here is photographic proof. The fish is now at Wild Things Taxidermist in Alexanderia. Jennifer said it had a 19" Rainbow in its belly. He was a male 31 inches long and as you can see on the scale 11 pounds 15 oz. Fisherman call that 12 lbs. ha-ha.

Default awesome catch....

congratulations!

Since I live on Meredith Bay and fish it regularly, (and get skunked regularly), it is technically my fish. I can make out my name in his speckles....

Default Fishlakewinni.com

Theres a reference to an 18lb laker being caught, possibly in a past derby, on the website.

I understand why folks keep big fish but everyone should realize that if they take pictures and measurements taxidermists can create a real models that are better looking and more durable then having the actual fish mounted. That way, trophy fish get bigger and even larger fish are avilable for the future. The fish you took is very old. It takes a longtime to grow another one. Again, I understand but I'd like folks to know there are alternatives to taking the actual fish that get you the same result.
