No. While they resemble a man-made track, they are actually caused by cracks in the ice. Water seeps up through the cracks due to ice movement and wind pressure. It pushes to each side, melting the snow on the ice, creating a "track", then recedes back down through the crack when the pressure is relieved. Makes for some interesting "tracks" across the lakes at this time of year.
