It was a show stopper for most people I spoke with about it. Hopefully the selectboard will start working on it, or the folks pushing this will seek more consensus on what is brought forward.

The $24M plus plan with interest was a no-go. Get the cost down under $5 Million to start. If they want a pool, let the town lease them the land for 99 years and let the HUB gang build and operate it themselves...not on my dime ! The pool is not a government essential service. Period ! The pool was a sweetener in hopes that they could corral another part of the population to vote for the HUB. People saw through it. Stop this nonsense.

ACME, I wish it was that easy. They know exactly what they are doing.
Proponents of big government and liberal policies never stop until they win. They push, push and push, until they get their way. This is far from over.

The new select board is stacked with three instead of two die hard Hubbers.
The new select board member, and subsequently elected chair, and was previously on the select board for years, left to go to the school board, become chair for a number of years, kicked out of school chair, resigned from school board, and then elected easily this year back to the select board. Was the running mate of the Hub proponent who came in 4th for select board.

The next move will be a community center without a pool, maybe with a gym, maybe not. Without a gym, replace the Lions club, would pass no problem. Make it with pre-engineered structural steel shell ... I'll help promote it!

ACME, As usual you have taken a seemingly complicated matter and simplified the circumstance quite nicely. I see nothing political associated with your point. If the town Mothers and Fathers rely on basic common sense, this topic will go away.
Well said ACME!
