Default Storm Alert

I heard that there was an alert warning boaters to get off the lake about the storm on Thursday-- wind, rain and hail. But I don't know where to receive such a message. Where was it broadcast?

I was wondering the same thing about the same storm, not about boating but about email notifications of weather alerts. I found this: https://www.weather.gov/enterprise/sw-alerts-email-1a

Also see Wireless Emergency Alerts: https://www.weather.gov/wrn/wea

The NWS broadcasts emergency alerts on NHPR.
