Default Loon population increasing?

Yesterday while sitting out on our deck I was able to count 11 loons in view. We're in the Cow/Ragged area. That's many more than I can remember in recent years. I also noticed many loons around Chase Point and Whortleberry. Seems to me only five years ago we'd be lucky to see one a week. Does anyone keep counts of the population of loons on the lake? Are they on the rise or are they finding less traveled parts of the lake to live in?

Cow,

I've seen a lot more loons this year, as well.
