I got a peak one in some clear sky over the Ossipee mountains and their con trails were very curvy. It was very high and looked like a delta wing'd plane, but it was too far away to tell for sure. It sure was going fast!

I was skiing Cannon yesterday and just as we were packing our car up, one of them flew over and broke the sound barrier! It's not approved for jets to do that in the Military Operations Area over the White Mountains and the pilot can get in pretty big trouble for doing that. Pretty neat though!

I was just a 100 or so yards off the summit of North Kinsman yesturday afternoon and had the sonic boom. One of the coolest things I have ever experienced (after we realized what it was). There were two that sounded within a split second of each other. Don't know if that is common. I have photos from the summit, but the planes entered at the same time as heavy cloud cover and snow. No photos to be had of the planes.

Photo was taken about 20 minutes before the sonic boom.

Well I was in my house at Mittersill and had a huge scare. It sounded like an bomb hit my roof. I ran outside to see if a tree fell on the house or if the chimney fell. We had no clue what had happened. A minute later we heard the jets and figured it must have been a sonic boom. I've watched all kinds of fighter craft for 30+ years at Cannon and that was a first.
