Default Look Off Rock

Well, I said my goodbyes to the property where Look Off Rock was. I loved going there in the evenings (when the bikers weren't around) just to sit and look out over the lake.
I was so saddened to see what they are doing. I can't even recognize it anymore.
Soon there will be tacky condos built which will cut off any view at that point. I doubt they will be filled, but if they do get bought, we all know who will own them.
How sad that the city allowed this. Soon, "the natives" will have nowhere to go to just sit and enjoy the view.

I am disappointed as well. I always like driving by there and looking over the lake. It was a great view -so sad.

Default What is considered Meredith Bay???

I know it says Meredith Bay but it's in Laconia....I know the tax rate in both towns are different...but if your spending $$ for a media room a few thousand a year might not be a big dent.

Default Meredith Bay!!

The body of water located in front of look off rocks is the meredith bay section of lake winnipesukee...I remember the fun we had back in the 70s driving our cars from the Meredith end down to the Weirs across the ice...wide open..hittimg almost a 100 mph..imagine doing that today....

Here are a few shots showing the progress on the new Meredith Bay condos on Scenic Drive. The views should be spectacular:

Default Look off Rock

I grew up vacationing at The Lakeside Hotel in the Weirs and now have been living here more than 20 yrs. and still remember the old Look off Rock Motel up on the hill there with the little red cottages, some of which have been moved down the hill and are still used today. Unfortunately it was just a matter of time before someone developed the land there. The view there is definitely very special!!

This past spring, they were starting at $490K. No idea where they are with the price today. That was without a dock, but you had priority to lease one of the docks.

Default Gutsy move?

I'm not sure whether this is a gutsy move or a misinformed move on the part of the developer. What data is out there to suggest that this is a good time to build on speculation?

When we looked at them, the plan was to build 19 of the Townhomes. They had 3 or 4 units per building, from what I remember, roughly 2,600 sq ft with an attached one car garage.
