Default Town on the lake with good nightlife.

Hi. I am traveling to the lake area with a group of guys in late September and I am looking for some advice having never been to LW. We are hoping to fish and/or play golf during the day. Hoping to find an area that has some restaurants/bars for something to do at night. Any suggestions for towns that might be fun? Thanks!

From my experience, it’s not really a “night life” area but, I’m in the Tuftonboro/Wolfeboro area. It will probably help others if you let us know town you are staying in.

Try Laconia. They have nice restaurants like Burrito Me and Fun Spot rocks pretty late.

Weirs Beach is the Nightlife spot!

You have the makings for an AWESOME Pub crawl...

Looney Bin - Best wings around! Great Beer selection!
Broken Spoke - overall great place!
The Crazy Gringo for your pre-game!
Tower Hill Tavern - Downstairs is a tavern, upatairs usually a band
The Big House - DJ house music usually, sometimes band on outdoor patio

Default .... Meredith night tennis under the lights

For something a little different, two of the six Meredith tennis courts have about six tall towers with bright lights for playing tennis in the dark, at night, and even at midnight.

It is located in the large Meredith soccer-baseball-tennis area, away from any homes, so no nearby homes to bother with the tower lights. Turning them on happens by turning a 60-minute timer dial ...... and bingo..... it's night tennis time on the first two courts.

Is available to any tennis players, free to use, and expect a police car to slowly roll thru the parking area as it makes its regular town tour .....
..............

Thursday night: Meredith pickleball ..... 6-8-pm .... three indoor courts at the Meredith Community Center .... two dollars/person ..... play indoors where there's no black flies or mosquitoes ...... just pickleball ringers!

Meredith.

Golf at Waukewan.

Head towards Weirs/Laconia to hit some of the bars mentioned above. Looney Bin is a must for wings.

Land back in Meredith and you have a few options for beers with no driving needed depending on how late it is, Town Docks, Frog Rock.

Breakfast at George’s.

rpdoug -- Again, age of your group is a consideration !

If you are a group of 20+ year old's … sorry to say, there are no true "Night Clubs" ….. the area cater's primarily to Family tourism.

With that said, If you are simply looking for "activity" and a few cold beers -- the above mentioned area's will "quench" that need

Don't miss the opportunity to jump onboard the "Dive" as well should it be in port at weirs Beach.

Yes what are the ages?

But if your looking for Fishing that would be the whole lake as for Golfing Pheasant Ridge in Gilford is good and also Tavern 27 (not sure of the golf club name there) but you can golf then have a cold drink there after.

As for nightlife Meredith doesn't have to much of a nightlife we did get a new Brewery. Laconia or Weirs Beach would definitely be your bet for that. Right next to Tower Hill same owners there is a bar/club, You have Patrick's Pub in Gilford they always have entertainment, Fratellos in Laconia has Entertainment upstairs, there is the

Not too many places open after 11pm, and many shut down at 10pm.

For $1.19 the Meredith Mobil has cold 1-pint plastic bottles of Borden's strawberry or chocolate milk that taste about a hundred times better than any beer ever brewed.

Lose the beer ...... and drink chocolate or strawberry milk! ... .... and if you get stopped by the police for a burnt out head light or license plate bulb or a worn out windshield wiper blade or something ..... you won't smell like a beer.

Officer to you: ...... 'you smell like strawberry milk' ..... 'how many strawberry milks have you had tonight' ..... (not too likely to happen here in the lakes region ..... get the message!)

Meredith! Plenty of bars within walking distance of the docks, fishing is decent in the bay (Pemi Lake is a shirt drive with excellent fishing), Ridgewood CC not a far drive...
