Default Electric to island

Just Received DES approval for underwater electric to an island in moultonborough -
tuftonborough area. Any recommendations for barge service, electrical submarine cables and concrete caps and electrician to hook in on both sides?
Any help is appreciated!

For barge service only one that I know of stands above all others. Watermark.
They don't cut corners or take risks like others do.
Other then their prices being high I've never heard anything bad said about them either on this forum or through word of mouth.
I have personally worked with a contractor who has worked with them and they have always done things professionally.
Good luck with your project.

The barge service is easy, not sure who to talk to as far as obtaining the underwater materials to do the job though.

Watermark is expensive but good. Diversified marine is a lot more reasonable.

I would have thought all of the islands have electric at this point. You learn something everyday. How big is the island you are on?

Good luck with the project.

There are a fair number that don't. Camp, Timber and Diamond are just a few in Gilford alone. Not exactly small ones either...

Didn't know Timber doesn't have power but I'm not surprised due to the few properties. We were out on the lake last weekend during the full moon and noticed lights on at one property on the west side. Hopefully they're not lugging gas to the island. Its bad enough just feeding the generator during power outages at home.

The cost to supply verses the return.
Not sure what Island it was but I heard a few years ago the residents of one island went to court to get power brought out.
The reason I was told was that the cost to bring it out would never be returned because of the few houses on the island therefor the electric company did not want to bring it out and bear the cost.

I have to say Dave Farley/Diversified just finished a big landscaping job for us- he started immediately (within 24 hours of agreeing on the quote), finished on time and at budget. I am very pleased. His crew probably works the longest hours of anyone out there. They spent a few days working past dark, including moving our hot tub and the deck it was on in the dark with two machines. Pretty impressive to watch.

Yes but why are they not booked out at the busiest time of the year?
Most contractors in general are straight out at this time.
Not saying they don't do great work but it is something to think about.

He has multiple jobs going, I wouldn't say he is not busy..If anything I think he is too busy...I have heard watermark is actually not very busy right now.

My job had to be done within a specific time frame and at a certain budget. He made both happen.

We have Watermark coming into to do a decent project this fall. I have had a good experience working with those folks through the quote/application process. I have heard many good things of them from reliable people. As for Diversified/D. Farley that guy is one of the most unreliable persons I have dealt with. He would never work for me.
