Greetings all,
Does anyone know of a good place (presumably at the lake) where I can find a large variety of "welcome to the lake" signs and key racks etc????

thanks

Here is a good spot to get nice, reasonably priced key racks that go well in lake houses. www.artisanmetalshop.com

The 1812 Hampshire House in Alton has great signs. It's located right next to Prospect Mt. High School on Rte 28.

Default Shoppes in Merideth

Aren't there a couple of places at the Shoppes in Merideth that have such items. I was thinking of one building that stands alone, and then a store upstairs. Keeps the money local .

Default Other Decor

Not to hijack this thread, but since we're talking about lake decor, can anyone recommend a place where I can get a great map of Winnipesaukee and the surrounding towns? Not looking for a nautical chart.

Also interested in retro 50's-60's lake advertisements/ travel posters.

The Country Carriage in Mill Falls should have a wonderful selection. I worked for them (at a different store) when I was in high school.Wonderful store!

Default Wolfboro town docks

There is a new store right at the docks facing the parking lot that has some good stuff in the windows. This is in the place where the Great Water's bank tried to start up. Looks like they would have what you may be looking for.

I particularly liked the sign in the window that says:
Welcome Friends (Relatives By Appointment)

!!!

Hey lakershaker. I see you are from Simsbury CT. My parents live there and that's where I grew up. I have friends in Melvin Village from there too! Also, Lady Jane (forum name) taught art classes there. (I was one of her students). Lots of Simsbury folks up in the lakes region. Odd, for such a small town.

Small world! I grew up in Mass, but have been here for almost 10 years. I was just saying to my wife this weekend how surprised I was to see so many CT license plates on cars around the lake. It's a bit of a long drive, and unless I grew up coming up here and had so much family around, not sure if I'd be able to justify the weekly trip...

hancoveguy - Try the Moultonboro Country Store.

The Antique Emporium in Laconia (Main St.) may have something like the the items you're describing, but that can be hit or miss...

I saw a bunch of signs at Black's and the store across the street from there (on the lake side of the street - the name of the place escapes me at the moment.)

Did you ever find your map? I have been looking for one too!

Moultonboro Country Store has a "map room." Several maps to choose from.
