Default Alton Bay Cam down?

When I try to open the Alton Bay webcam, all I see is a box with a red X in the corner. Anyone else getting this?

http://www.spencerhughes.com/altoncam/

I need my Alton Bay fix!

I get the red X as well. They must be having a cam issue.

I still can't get in. However, if I click on the little webcam picture in the top right hand corner, it opens another page where I can see a smaller version of the Alton Webcam as well as one in Wolfeboro. If I click on that, nothing.

Strange. I e-mailed them (Spencer-Hughes) and got no reply.

Same here. In the past, when the camera would get mis-directed, I'd mail Spencer Hughes and they'd promptly reply and point the camera back to where it is supposed to be. Mailed them a few days ago....no reply. I really miss that cam....

It is possible that in this HOT real estate market, they are so busy selling houses that they just do not have the time to adjust the camera.

On the serious side, I deeply appreciate the folks that share their web cameras' shots with us. I hope it is fixed soon as this is a great time to see what is going on all over the lake.

When the camera is working correctly, the direction is controlled by you and I from another sight. I always move it to the location that I'm interested in viewing. It sure is a very nice feature.

That is a great feature. I wonder if all that steering broke the poor thing?

The Alton Bay webcam is back up and running. Just noticed it this morning (2 July). Hoo-ray.

Despite having the latest version of Java I still only get the little red X.
Any ideas?

Default User

Mc Dude,
I had a problem earlier and had to create a new user (WIN XP) It worked on the new user and I transfered over my old files. The microsoft experts defined it as a bad setting when windows opens the user.
BTW you can download the latest version of Java free.
