Crab Apple Cafe - Laconia

I went today to get lunch at the downtown sandwich shop that's always super-busy at lunch time and found them - CLOSED!!! Out of Business!

Word on the street downtown is that the landlord raised the rent, and they weren't having it! (Not to mention food cost, I'm sure!)

Problem is - they had a fantastic shop! Any word out there that the owners might re-open in a new location?

The silver lining to the story is that I tried the Laconia Village Bakery across the street, and was very happy! Fresh bread for my sandwich, prompt, friendly service and reasonable price. Recommended to all who miss the Crab Apple for lunch!

Gee, that's awful news. They had great sandwiches, and places to sit and chill. The bakery across the street has always been terrific. Great soups, great folks. These are bad times for restaurants.
