Default real estate venue

What Is up with the classified section on this forum? It seems like It Is being transformed to an advertizing forum for the local real estate offices.

Do you think that I shouldn't allow ads from Real Estate agencies? The ads are for Lakes Region properties that would be of interest to visitors to this site.

I got similar complaints last year when a boat dealer placed several ads. I'm not sure I understand the problem.

Alton Mumma: You can get to the Classifieds by clicking on "Quick Links" at the top of the forum or by going to the site's main page (http://www.winnipesaukee.com) and clicking "Classifieds".

Just curious...

Whose website is this?

One would think the owner would have the discretion to make decisions without comments from the peanut gallery...

Thumbs up Thumbs Up

The classifieds are another feature of this wonderful web site. I enjoy looking periodically at boating and real estate classifieds. It is great that it is free to all who post and provides a wonderful source for many of the members and lurkers here. Personally I feel that allowing business and non business classifieds together adds to the charm and allure of Winnipesaukee.com. Keep up the good work Don

I have always thought ALL the adds on this site were well done, non intrusive and of interest to the people that would visit here. I would expect the classifieds to be heavy with professionals, after all, they know where the readers are. I also have the choice to not read them too.

If you want anoying, go to the Conway Daily Sun site, the adds are "in your face" and my popup blocker can't even stop them.

just my 2 cents, your milage may vary.

When I log in without my name and password I am a guest. As a guest I do not see the Quick Links item on the top of the forum menu.

I see it on the main page of the site but not on top of the forum.

Why are guests not allowed to get the Quick Links menu choice from the forum page menu bar?

If this is not an appropriate question for the forum would you PLEASE e-mail me with the reason.

Thank you.

Mark

The Quick Links are only available to logged in members. That's just the way the vBulletin software works. It is probably because the Quick Links also contains links to member functions.

Default Real estate venue

Over the years the Webmaster has done a fantastic job of keeping this site attractive to a large segment of the population, not just locals. I offer my strongest thanks for the work.

With respect to real estate ads, or any ads, I have no problem at all as long as they appear in the correct forum and are classified as such. I have seen other sites get in trouble when the ads invade, and eventually squeeze out, the conversations being held about topics in other forums.

I like it the way it is. Thanks.
