Default What's the name of the Restaurant... and is it any good?

The restaurant on route 28 after you pass the Alton Circle and head towards Wolfeboro. It's on the left before the blinking yellow light and sharp left turn that brings you to downtown Wolfeboro. It looks like an Asian restaurant and seems to only be open sometimes.

What kinds of food do they serve and is it any good (e.g. atmosphere, food, wait staff, etc.)?

Thanks a million.

Thumbs down

Hi Jane, We're your 19 Mile Bay Grady neighbors. The name of the restaurant is East of Suez. It's okay...I wouldn't rave about it. It's open for about six weeks over the summer. They hang the sign when they're open for business. It's a bring your own place, no alcohol is served, just water. Prepare to spend an evening there. The service is slow. But, it's because they prepare everything as you order it, so if there are quite a few others who have placed their orders before you, prepare to wait. The atmosphere is really lacking. We went there one time and haven't been back...but that's just us....I've heard others rave about it. You may just have to go and see for yourself. (ps. love the dancing banana in your post)

Default We love it.

Count myself and neighbors as fans. We like the low-key atmosphere, the fact that we can bring our own beverages, and the "table for the evening" slowness. If you plan on making it a nice leisurely evening, it is a wonderful place.

The owner travels quite a bit, especially to the AP region. The menu is made up of dishes found on his travels. We have always been very satisfied with both the preparation and delivery.

Usually opens just before 4th of July and closes Labor Day.

Default East of Eden

Actually, the original owners have both passed away, and last year was the first year the children ran it. Didn't make it there, but heard is was good as usual, definately a different setting, but very relaxed and enjoyable. Just pray it is not the most humid night of the season.
