Looking for a roofer
Hi Everyone,
My brother has a home on Long Island in Moultonboro and is in need of a Roofer. Can anyone refer roofers in this area? I checked thru some of the past threads, but did not come up with much. Thanks all. Eillac |

Piper Roofing in Belmont
They did a buddy's roof on Sleepers Island. First class job with no mess.
Page Roofing of Gilford did the Green's mansion on Long Island. Pretty impressive job.

Blue Moon Builders will have best price and get it done quickly (603) 293-7901.
most of the waterfront homes in meredith are done by them. whoever you go with make sure you get proof of insurance for everyone on the job. Blue Moon Builders has it but most do not! |

Beyond proof of insurance is required, anyone with a hammer and a tool kit can get insurance as well as a federal business ID. Get a reference list and call everyone on it. Call the BBB. Find out when they started the business and why. Make sure they have a permanent place of business, make them prove that they have some skin in the game and are not just trying it out or getting some side work. This is common in all aspects of construction, but roofing is quick and easy to perform, so it draws a very diverse collection of players. Last edited by jmen24; 11-04-2009 at 08:50 AM. |

Not only do you need to get an insurance certificate, you must also check that the type of insurance they have covers the type of work they are doing.
I decided on a roofer who sent me a certificate that covered interior carpentry only. When I contacted their agent and told him they were about to do my roof, their policy was canceled (fraud?). Apparently roofers insurance is much more expensive than interior carpentry. I still need a new roof, and I'm looking for a reputable roofer myself. Last edited by loony; 11-06-2009 at 07:00 AM. |
