Default Farm Stand

We are going on vacation in a few weeks to the Weirs area and we sometimes like to buy corn and other fresh vegetables at farm stands. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should go or would I be better off picking it up at Shaw's or Hannafords?

Default Moulton Farms

I go out of my way to go to Moulton Farms in Meredith.

http://www.moultonfarm.com/contact.htm

Great Produce and Baked goods. Just off Rt 25 a couple of miles out of Meredith center. Well worth the drive.

Enjoy.

If your thinking of Shaws or Hannaford in Gilford you would be much better off going to Greens & Beans for fresh produce and the many other wonderful things they make.

Greens & Beans is the best!

Click on the contact us page and there is a map with directions, they're just south of the Meridith traffic circle.

Default picnic rock farms

picnic rock farms and greens and beans look like they are the most convenient for me to get to. Do both of these places usually have good products?

Default Beans & Greens

Right down the street from the Weirs and they offer really great fresh produce at decent prices. They also have lots of fresh baked goods and local meats & cheeses as well.

http://www.beansandgreensfarm.com/

Saturday nights they usually have dinner & dancing in their pavilion. Great place and a lot of fun. The staff is also very friendly and helpful!

we are close to the weirs and we always go to Picnic Rock Farm for our fruit and vegis. They are on the right hand side on rt 3 heading up the hill towards Meredith and Grouse Point.

There is a farm stand in Meredith that is totally organic. Snow Dragon Mountain Farms has a farm stand open Wednesdays and Saturdays (call for hours, I forget them all) and at other times by appointment. 603-630-1548

There is a LARGE variety of vegetables, and New Hampshire's ONLY organic honey. I asked how could they know the bees only used organic flowers and they said the farm is so large (200 acres) that bee's foraging is only on-farm, and that the state inspector was the one who recommended they be certified organic for honey production.

Snow Dragon Mountain Farm is at the top of Chemung Drive in western Meredith, overlooking Winnesquam.

Got corn at Moulton this past Saturday and it was just all right at best. Tasted like your typical corn a grocery store might have on the shelf. I go there all the time in the summer and it's usually awesome, grabbed a bad batch or something this past weekend.

Heath's in Center Harbor does have some local produce. Usually get stuff there from Owen's or Booty Farms but recently had several containers of lettuce from Pork Hill Farm in Ossipee and it was excellent. I also shop at Moultons, but only for their own local produce; don't like to pay premium prices for non-local food.

Has local corn been harvested yet? It seems too early. I would guess that corn is from the NJ area.

We stopped in a Moulton over the weekend and the sign said it was Georgia corn. I would guess that it means it's from Georgia?? Their website has a list of freshly picked produce available.

Default too early for local corn

Moulton's corn is awesome but it is not ready yet...they are selling corn, but not their own. Just so you know, Moulton Farms fills a huge farm stand at the Meredith Mobil Station every day. This is the Mobil station across from the town docks and owned by the inns at Mill Falls. They restock several times a day and it will save you the trip through the lights. The prices are exactly the same at the Mobil station as they are at the Farm. AND, you may run into me there as i am part of the management team for the inns/station. Please introduce yourself if you see me there!
